The Importance of Patient Safety at Tessler Plastic Surgery

Jun 13, 2024

At Defyne by Tessler Plastic Surgery, patient safety is our top priority. We go above and beyond to ensure that all procedures, including facial treatments that involve crossing the blood barrier, are performed with the utmost care and precaution.

Microneedling Safety

One popular procedure that we offer at Defyne by Tessler Plastic Surgery is microneedling, a rejuvenation treatment that helps improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and acne scars. During microneedling, tiny needles are used to create controlled micro-injuries to the skin, stimulating the body’s natural healing process and promoting collagen production. While this treatment is generally safe and effective, it is important to take precautions to prevent the spread of blood-borne diseases like HIV.

To protect our patients during microneedling procedures, we strictly adhere to a set of safety protocols. Before beginning the treatment, our team thoroughly disinfects the treatment area and ensures that all equipment is sterile. We also use single-use disposable needles to minimize the risk of cross-contamination. Additionally, our staff members wear gloves and other protective gear to prevent exposure to blood and bodily fluids.

Additional Rejuvenation Treatments

In addition to microneedling, we also offer other facial treatments that may involve crossing the blood barrier, such as Ellacor, nanofat, and regenerative medicine treatments.

Ellacor is a non-surgical procedure that, unlike microneedling, uses hollow needles to core out and remove skin, resulting in improved skin quality, appearance, and facial contour.

Nanofat is a compact bundle of a patient’s own stem cells, many growth factors, cytokines, and biological peptides found in fat with regenerative and tissue remodeling potential.

Regenerative medicine treatments use the patient’s own blood factors to promote skin rejuvenation.

To ensure the safety of our patients during these treatments, we take extra precautions to prevent the spread of blood-borne diseases. We use sterile instruments and disposable materials, and our staff members are trained to handle blood and bodily fluids in a safe and hygienic manner. We also follow strict protocols for cleaning and disinfecting the treatment area before and after each procedure.
