Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty Scottsdale AZ

Rhinoplasty (nose reshaping surgery aka ‘nose job’) is one of the most common cosmetic surgeries performed in the US year after year – many people have a slight deviation, a hump, or simply feel that their nose is not the shape and size they would like. The job of a nose is to be unnoticeable and to compliment the shape of the face – it should not distract away from your eyes and lips when you are interacting with others. Patients who are unhappy with the shape, size, or shape of their nose often find themselves contemplating rhinoplasty. While this procedure can provide the long-term improvements that you desire and is the gold standard in changing the shape and size of the nose, some patients are apprehensive of the cost and downtime that surgery presents or may just not be ready to commit to a surgical treatment. Non-surgical rhinoplasty – also referred to as liquid rhinoplasty or the 15-minute nose job – uses dermal fillers such as Restylane to alleviate minor imperfections on the nose and can be an effective alternative for certain patients.

Tessler Plastic Surgery offers non-surgical rhinoplasty in Scottsdale to achieve a more symmetrical nose that is in harmony with the rest of your facial features. This treatment is completed using injectable fillers such as Restylane and Juvéderm to improve proportionality without the need for surgery. Dr. Sergey Turin and Dr. Oren Tessler have helped numerous individuals from Scottsdale, Phoenix, Scottsdale, Gilbert, Paradise Valley, Glendale, Mesa, and surrounding Arizona cities improve the appearance of their nose with this procedure. Our surgeons understand that the needs of different individuals are unique and create a highly individualized and precise treatment plan to suit the needs of each patient.

Ideal candidates for an Injectable Rhinoplasty

A non-surgical nose job – aka liquid rhinoplasty – is a quick, low pain treatment that uses soft tissue fillers to alleviate minor cosmetic imperfections in the nose. You may be a good candidate for this non-invasive procedure if you are looking to address the following aesthetic issues:

  • Nasal bump
  • Nasal asymmetry
  • Crooked nose
  • Flat or wide nasal bridge
  • Broad nasal tip

It is important to note that this non-invasive treatment is not designed to resize the nose or alter its underlying structure. Rather, it is meant to address minor aesthetic mishaps. During your visit to Tessler Plastic Surgery, the surgeon will listen to your concerns and examine your nose and help you determine whether this treatment is appropriate for you.

Who is not a Candidate for Liquid Rhinoplasty?

Non-surgical nose reshaping may not be the right treatment in the case of the following:

  • High dorsal hump – liquid rhinoplasty cannot be used to reshape a high dorsal hump because there is no room to fill above the hump. If dermal fillers are used to correct this issue, they may create the impression of a nose that starts at the forehead (also referred to as a ‘roman nose’).
  • Nasal defects in danger zones – certain areas of the nose have blood vessels that can be problematic if injected and thus cannot be improved using nonsurgical nose reshaping.
  • Prior surgical rhinoplasty – patients who have undergone a surgical rhinoplasty before may have a disrupted native blood supply, which can make the liquid nose job injection less reliable and possibly even dangerous.

The non-surgical nose job surgeons at Tessler Plastic Surgery make sure that liquid rhinoplasty is only performed on qualified patients. If this treatment is not for you, the surgeon will recommend an alternative approach to help yield the outcome you are looking for.

Procedure Approach

Non-surgical rhinoplasty is a brief procedure that is performed with the patient awake after a topical or injectable local anesthetic is administered to numb the treatment area. The selected injectable filler or botulinum toxin (BOTOX) will then be used to achieve a more symmetrical nose appearance. The surgeon will focus on controlled and precise injections in line with the goals of the treatment. This process may last as long as 45 minutes. Since these injections are superficial, they do not clog the nasal cavity and cause breathing issues. However, the patient will be observed for a minimum of 15 minutes after treatment to watch out for any blockage of blood vessels.

Recovery

Recovery After Liquid Rhinoplasty

Tolerance can vary from one patient to the other, but nonsurgical nose reshaping is typically not painful. You will be able to resume light activities immediately after the treatment is completed. You may be asked – however – not to wear glasses or engage in physical activities within the first 48 hours. Patients may however experience bruising, swelling, and redness that can last as little as a few hours to as much as a few days. You may need to apply ice to the treated area to minimize the swelling and alleviate the discomfort. Results are usually visible immediately after the procedure, but you may have to wait up to two weeks so that the swelling can clear first.
